45/55 'Relax Your Mind' (2014)
Day 45! "Everybody moving so fast, one time you gotta relax your mind", says LeadBelly. This is a song written by legendary blues man LeadBelly in 1949. It was taught to me by my friend Damon sitting around the campfire. A simple song that Leadbelly wrote back then about how fast folks were moving and how much they weren't paying attention to what they were doing. Things don't seem to be too much different now. I know I didn't write this song, but the version is original and I got permission from the Leadbelly Foundation to record it. I found an old recording of LeadBelly talking about this song and we took a sound byte of his voice and tucked it in to a couple of places. See if you can hear it.
