13/55 'Standing' (1994)
Day 13! This is a song I wrote for my Dad. He died when he was 34 years old. Committed suicide. I was 7. It took me half my life to sort it all, sort myself, and it will never leave me. Life happens in many ways and time won't let you change things, not one microsecond. But, we still have to stand. So, acceptance and forgiveness for such an experience as this, is paramount. This song is just that. Something happened to me when I was a kid that was out of my control and that deeply affected me. I now accept and forgive, but will never forget. I wrote this to heal myself, to be able to move forward and be a bigger love than I already am. This song finally got recorded and released on my last album WHUT!? (2015).
