28/55 'Conversation With Self' (2002)

Day 28! We all have this voice inside of us, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. We all battle our egos and more to find our place in the world. Me, I'm a moronic optimist. That means that I see the positive in everything. I see all of life, the good and the bad, as a moving lesson. I am not an optimistic moron, not even close. That would mean that I am just stupid and I am not. I am a light of love and power and strength for the positive side. But sometimes my bad voice is loud and tries to pull me down with it. This song is a conversation with self to stay on the plus side and not follow that bad voice to the down side. We have the power to weed our mental gardens. We have the power to control what comes out of us and how we are. I hope your conversation with your self is going well. I send you love. This song was recorded in 2014 and uses the sound byte of a commercial stake pounder pounding in foundation pilings for a new building in downtown Portland, Oregon across the river from my studio. The rhythm of the machine fit the tempo of the song, so we mixed them together! Stay on the plus side y'all!
