9/55 'The Hum of Insanity' (1993)

Day 9! In the Spring of 1993, I met this guy named Daniel Work, 'The Painter for the People'. He is a painter and was running a small local art gallery called ROYGBIV in the Short North of Columbus, OH. We hit it off from our introduction. I told him I was working on playing guitar and writing songs and that I was just beginning this journey. Well, right then and there, Dan reaches into his pocket and gives me a key to the art gallery saying, 'Go in and play at night man. Work on your craft.' So, I did. I would go in at night and play and write and sing. Sometimes I would walk around the art while playing. There was an installation at that time by one artist that expressed this artist's thoughts and feelings about work and family. As I walked around, this song came out and 'The Hum of Insanity' was born. This song has a serious 'work' connection. Thank you Daniel Work. We became great friends and are still best buds to this day!!
