38/55 'A Day in the Life Of' (2007)

Day 38! Life happens, doesn't it? Sometimes good, sometimes bad and it's up to us to learn no matter what. This song was born due to some bad things that I turned into some good things. I won my first Martin guitar in a raffle at the 1999 Telluride Bluegrass Festival , his name was Harold. That was a good thing. Harold got me a Performers Sponsorship with Martin guitar and a tweener spot at Telluride in 2004, another good thing. Colorado giveth and Colorado taketh. In August 2007, Harold was stolen at Yarmony Grass Festival in western Colorado. I was crushed. That was a bad thing, an awful thing. I had to turn it all around somehow. I contacted my Artist Rep at Martin to tell them what happened and that I needed a new guitar. I set up a visit to Nazareth, PA to go and buy a new one. They treated me great and I came out with a beautiful new guitar. Her name is Audrey. That was a great thing! This song is the first song that I wrote with Audrey. It is a song about being big love no matter what is happening in life. The song is about acknowledging the good and the bad and asks the question, 'Where do we go from here?'
